[UFOS] Singapore 2006 and New Weekday Game Schedule

UFOs:

 

Just taking up from the announcement of David yesterday, the Singapore
tourney is slated most likely on September 9-10.  Following the formidable
debut performance of the Vietnam national team last year, the challenge is
up for us to improve our seeding this year.

 

Having been given the task of coordinating the Saigon contingent, I would be
pleased to get suggestions from everyone (even those who may not go to the
tourney). Initially, I'm thinking of the following:

*	Get an initial list of players from UFOs and get aligned with the
Hanoi club - could you please send me an email if you're interested to join
the Vietnam team, within this week?
*	Once we have the list of players, we'll figure out the positions:
Defensive and Offensive line-ups + specific roles (handler, deep, etc.)
*	Together with interested players, we'll devise a 9-week training
program (we only have 9 Sundays to go before the tourney date) involving
plyometrics and drills.
*	Uniforms? Gimmicks? Fund-raising drive? Cheap flights +
accommodation? Etc. Let's start picking our brains on this!
*	Singapore kick-off party at my place to be announced later (sorry to
those who missed the party last weekend, I know the notice came too late)

 

Having mentioned the plyos, the new schedule of plyos would be: Tuesdays and
Thursdays, following the new practice schedule of the RMIT students. The
students start playing at 4:30PM and they play until late 6PM to accommodate
those who come from their respective offices. The 30-minute plyos take place
after the game-we do some fast runs, power yoga stretching, and what not to
improve speed, endurance, and flexibility.

 

I would like to enjoin everyone to take up the challenge! Let's go disc
hungry for Singapore! And continue bringing in new people to the game.
