FYI. As we won't be sending a VN full squad, Blair and I will be joining the
durian smoothie bath with Force Durian in HK (as Blair said, she had started
the training eating one whole durian per day!).
Re: Practice this Sunday (Oct. 1), Vu informed me that the RMIT fields are
not yet available. Keep posted for announcements as Hoa, Vu, and the others
are looking for a temporary field location. I think we can start playing at
3PM this Sunday. Please let us know if you have field suggestions!

Subject: HK Tourney (October 28-29) Update
Asian Ultimate Community,
We're all looking forward to hosting you in Hong Kong on the pre-Halloween
weekend of October 28-29!
NINE TEAMS - As we have only three fields, we're inclined to limit the
tournament to nine teams. So far, we have:
Singapore Freakshow - confirmed
Beijing - confirmed
Shanghai - confirmed
Bangkok - confirmed
Jakarta - confirmed
Hong Kong Junk - confirmed
Hong Kong Star Fairies - confirmed
Hong Kong Unclean - confirmed
Taipei, Guangzhou or Taipei/Guangzhou - ?
Korea - ?
Philippines - ?
If we have space, we'll accept second teams proposed from (so far) Beijing
and/or Shanghai. We're experimenting with game schedules to see how many
teams we can manage.
Team representatives, please confirm as soon as possible!
I'm working on getting a venue with space for 4-5 fields for October 2007,
so hope to expand to 12 or more teams next year.
RATIO - We're aiming for 4/3 men to women. We're a little short of women
here so may have to fall back onto a 4/3 - 5/2 Offence choice. We hope to
confirm by next week.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES - We expect players to play with the team from the
place where they live/work/play. We're not interested in discovering which
teams have the most active networkers or which players panic earliest or
which teams plan ahead the farthest - and frown on the practice of player
poaching in general. Teams, please play with your players and players,
please play with your teams. We do recognise that in a WUCC year
Singapore's planned Worlds roster may cause some disruption.
STRAY PLAYERS - Let me know. We may be able to find you a team.
TIMING OF SUNDAY FINAL - Our tentative plan is to conclude the final by 5pm
Sunday. But it would help if we could push that back to 6pm. Will that
work or will that be too late? Note that the following Monday (October 30)
is a holiday some places. Please lemme know your thoughts on this.
TOURNEY FEE - will likely be HK$400 and will probably include all the games,
lunch on the field Saturday, dinner and party Saturday night, lunch on the
field Sunday and drinks and snacks on the field... Not bad, huh. Dunno know
for sure though - its a work in progress.
MORE INFO - will be on our website soon. <http://www.hkupa.com/>

1. Teams, please confirm or decline asap and provide the name and email
address of your team representative.
2. And please let me know how late you think the Sunday Final can finish.
Love & Layouts,
Steven Lee
