Bravo Vu! You are awesome!
I suggest that every Saturday after training a rules session is scheduled where the trainers will DISCUSS AND DEMONSTRATE 3 or 5 rules from the rule book to the players.
After discussing and demonstrating the rules, players can ask questions or clarify the meaning of the rule. There's nothing like a discussion to make the rules stick in our heads.
I suggest too that senior SUC members (our rule experts - Aaron, David, Tino?) be on hand to discuss the rules with SUC and RUC members. Some rules need clarification from experienced and knowledgeable players.
This is a great step guys. I totally agree that a knowledge of the rules is necessary for making everyone a more complete ultimate player.
At the very least it will prevent us from looking totally ignorant when calls are made on the field. It is always better to be able to hold your own when questions about rules arise.
All players should know the rules not just the captains.
I am with you on this Vu. Count me in.
Anne
PS
And yes I hope someone can step up and translate the rules to Vietnamese. Any volunteers?

Hi RUC, SUC n HUC!
After the mini-tournament and the Spring league, I recognize that there are a few of ppl know the rules(excl. me) and arguments, conflicts definitely are the consequences. Am pretty sure that the most of students and some VNamese guys wont read it untill it is translated into Vietnamese, the words are so complicated I guess. I come up with an idea and I'd like to question and answer my own, hope u guys dont mind:
Q: WHY DONT YOU READ THE RULES ?
A: too long, too complicated, I dont understand even a word, etc....
Q: WHY DONT WE TRANSLATE IT INTO VIETNAMESE ?
A: Ahhh yeahhh, ummmmm, I dont know why so far, but why not ....
Q: HOW DO WE DO THAT ?
A: As u might know, beyond the skill, the knowledge is also the main weapon to win a game. My POV, we deploy a campaign called "Read the rules" which encourge people who are really interested in developing their knowledge. I mean "the campaign" because it needs timeline, deadline, task assignment, responsibility sharing, experience sharing, etc......
????????????? WHAT DO YOU SAY ??????????????
I am sick and tired of being told "Read the rules", I'd like to say "READ THE RULES". If any of you are interested in this campaign, pls response your name, email address, fone no and "READ THE RULES". We"ll get back to you after gathering enough ppl.
Of course, I am the first one:

i got a few emails from members of the list serve having the same
timing and route so there might be some truth in it.
i have a jersey called Tibets. it is an open (men's) team in japan.
will see how it goes. i do not encourage nor the club is collective
about this, but just be responsible.
sports + happy hour beers = world peace.
