Hiya Vietnam Ultimate! Many thanks for the great effort you all put in for
The VuFather Hat! Each one of you has been an important part of this amazing
hat tourney! We are definitely living and partying it up and making the
Vietnam Hat a key event in the international Ultimate circle. Special thanks
to our RMIT University students who have really stepped up in terms of
hosting, organizing, field performance, spirit display, and party skills.
Sweet thanks as well to HUC for the unwavering support and for always giving
us surprises on the field as well as the party scene! To SUC, you are all so
sweet-super thanks for the determination, spirit, and extensive efforts in
organizing the tournament!

 

Our dearest sponsors all deserve a standing ovation (and we will be thanking
them individually soon)...

 

I also would like to forward to you a message from Andrew S. for the
thoughtful words which kept us going during the weekend...Andrew, will send
you and Stef the slideshow presentation of The VuFather photos (everyone
should look at Mai's amazing mafia pose!).

 

Thanks heaps to all (and please kick me for not dropping your name on this
mail, but I know all of you deserve big time appreciation!)...and let's keep

Hey guys - - appreciate if you can pass this on to HUC and SUC.

 

I just wanted to wish you all the best for this year's HAT tournament.
You've kept the spirit, kept the vision, and have always, always, always
forced straight to the future.  HUC and SUC were only dreams but a few short
years ago.  Now they're household names on the Ultimate circuit, and Vietnam
is producing some of Asia's best Ultimate talent.  Not only that, we've (and
I will always include myself in HUC and SUC, you're so much a part of me!)
grown into a wonderful global family.  A family that bridges time,
languages, cultures, a family that takes in anyone who wants to join, and a
family that teaches true sports(wo)manship, compassion, patience, nurturing,
and that deep, deep passion we call "spirit."  I know, in my heart, that
Ultimate brings peace and joy to all it touches, and I am convinced that the
world will be a better place when every child can throw and catch a disc and
call his or her own fouls.

 

I'm sad that I couldn't join you this year in person, but I'm with you in
spirit, always.  I was very lucky to spend some time with Stef, Maaike,
Jasper and Stan in Mozambique in November, and I know they share the
sentiment: we miss you all, and wish you the very best for the Hat 2007!  

 

May 2008 bring peace to all,

p.s. the UFCK (Ultimate Frisbee Club of Kandahar) launches its first
training session on the Helipad of the Provincial Reconstruction Team base
