Hey Guys,
Here are some updates about Bali: AirAsia currently has cheap flights
to Bali that connect through KL. You'll need to book 2 separate flights
-- one from SGN-KUL and the other from KUL-DPS. If you have a flexible
schedule, the combined fare for both flights can be as low as US$250.
Also, the organizers have set up a special rate at the tournament hotel,
the Jayakarta Bali Resort & Spa. Hotel rooms are US$60 double/twin per
night including a buffet breakfast for two. To guarantee a spot, you'll
need to make a reservation by Jan 20. Other lower cost options are also
available.
So far, the following individuals have expressed interest in joining
Vudoo in Bali. Keep in mind that we're expecting everyone who commits
to Bali to join in weekly team practices / drills / conditioning as we
tune up to take home the championship trophy. The tournament will be
4-3 format so we're definitely in need of more women in the line-up.

I've attached the tournament announcement email from the Asian Ultimate
mailing list below:
Ladies and gentlemen,
Prepare yourselves...
Goddess Kali invites you to Nusantara Cup X. The 10th annual Nusantara
Cup to be held, as always, on Easter Weekend, April 10-11 2009.
The registration party will be held on Thursday the 9th, with two days
of play and two nights of partying on Friday and Saturday; still leaving
you room for a day relaxing on Bali's fantabulous beaches before you
have to skulk back to your boring lives in the office on Monday morning.
That, or use this opportunity to take a longer trip in Bali and/or the
rest of Indonesia (highly recommended).
The tournament/party theme is Myths & Legends, but this ain't no toga
party. Make no mistake, Discindo's costumes will be of mythical
proportions.
Easter Weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Bali, so if
you want cheap flights and accommodation book them now.
Speaking of accommodation... Our tournament hotel is the wonderful
beachfront Jayakarta Bali Resort & Spa. Hotel rooms are US$60*
double/twin per night including a buffet breakfast for two. Our
fantastic new (old) hotel location puts us within spitting distance of
Seminyak Beach, our dinner location and all of our party locations.
With buses ferrying you to and from the fields, all you'll need to pay
for in the way of transport the whole weekend will be your airport
transfers.
To book your hotel rooms, please contact Ms. Anick at
sales_bali at jayakartahotelsresorts.com mentioning the Nusantara Cup in
your email. Due to the high tourist traffic in Easter we can only
guarantee you a hotel room if you book before January 20. If you book
after then, you're on your own (though you will still qualify for the
discounted rate).
I REPEAT: Book your hotel by January 20 or risk going without. Yes, I
know it's really soon. Can't be helped, sorry... If everyone gets on
top of it now and books a lot of rooms then I might be able to convince
them to hold them for a longer time.
Tournament registration will be Rp. 750,000 payable in cash at the
registration party**. This eminently reasonable fee entitles you to an
awesome disc (which has the added bonus of breaking the stupid new
Indonesian anti-pornography law), two days of play, transport to and
from the fields (leaving from the Jayakarta), a massive free lunch on
both days, free massages on the field (be nice and don't take too long),
a cornucopia of tropical fruits, piles of free Isotonik electrolyte
replacement drinks, free flow beer on the field both days, a fantastic
buffet dinner and, of course, entry to our legendary parties.
Of course, there are all the added bonuses you have come to know and
love from Bali including surprise bungy jumps with waivers of
questionable legal standing given the average level of intoxication of
the jumpers, the swilliest game of beach ultimate you will ever see at
sunrise on Sunday morning (I may even keep my pants on this year, it was
quite awkward when all those kids started playing) and much, much more
that I am wary of advertising in such a public forum.
We take the safety and security surrounding our tournament very
seriously. We have with a team of 9 people on constant patrol from a
Bali-based international security firm at our field. We will also have
a team of nurses and an ambulance standing by for any mishaps that may
occur (Hi Chua).
Confirmed teams so far are the defending champions Shiok (Singapore),
Vudoo (Vietnam), Discindo (Indonesia), Jiwa (Indonesia), Freakshow
(Singapore, with a 90% likelihood of coming, or so they say) and, making
their international debut, ULTimor (Timor Leste). We've been hearing
promising sounds from Saipan, Australia, Greater China, the Middle East
and a couple of old deadbeats who claim they once knew what it meant to
party in Bali...
If you're an individual player looking to pick-up, let me and G know and
we'll put you in contact.
Tournament will be 4:3 but offense can call if both captains agree.
For more information, please contact me and G at the email addresses
above.
More comprehensive information will be available on our website
www.ultimateindonesia.com soon.
Hope to see you there,
John & G

* KITAS/KIMS holders are eligible for a rate of Rp. 500,000, just quote
your number when you email Ms. Anick. If you don't know what a
KITAS/KIMS is then chances are you don't have one.
** We will also accept registrations in US dollars (US$75 at current
exchange rates), but given the volatility in international exchange
rates recently, we reserve the right to adjust that US$ amount in line
with the prevailing interest rates as the tournament draws closer.
