[SUC] Saigon Ultimate Summer League 2009 - Week 2 recap

Dear Leaguers,

Last Sunday we got games started half hour behind the schedule but still the summer day light favoured us with cool climate and light breeze. We managed to have week 2 sucessful as results as follow:

CAT WOMEN - 12

STORM - 11

ELEKTRA - 10

WONDER WOMEN - 6

 

On the river field, there was a thrilling race between Cat and Storm after the cap call. Despite of down in number, Storm with young, fast and aggressive RMIT talents still overwhelmed old man Tri's force with couple of lady to lady score. That's such a EXTRAORDIARY thing. In addition to that, it was such a half for the old man team with lots of turn over I could observe. 1st half closed after 30 minutes in hopeless for Cat. Second half, everything seemed going in the same way as previous when Storm easily created margin 4 points while the old man Tri was yelling out "5 mins to soft cap" to both field hopelessly. The day light started growing dim and this is the time for scratching, clawing and meow night roar the stroming sky. It's the hunting time for Cat, they started to shock, thrill the exhaust frightened prey with 4 points scored straight then pulled off 12-11 upset victory against the victim. What a Storming night!

Meanwhile, on the near field, Wonder Women with 2 full energy lines were ready to scare the Elektra. The WW was likely to use their vast force to make a physical strength torture against Elektra. However, it seemed the number does no matter to the Red. Once again, Elektra quickly and easily shocked their rival with a lady-lady score just 40 seconds after the first pull. Then Elektra kept shocking WW by their very adventurous defense strategy - Zone Rabbit. Before the first half closed, there was the longest points ever I experienced in my career, more than 30 turn overs lasted for more than 15 minutes. A ultimate long, neck-to-neck, pressure and crazy point I ever met, Elektra tried to get everyone touch for every turn over while WW couldn't reach the endzone due to strong wind, impatience, bad luck, etc. Turnover, won the disc back then turn over again, the cycle just repeated around and around until everyone got fainted. Second half witnessed the strong fight back from WW. They serveral times broke the zone of Red but by somehow loosing the disc too easy. Finally, after some ultimate points the Elektra pulled off another 10-6 victory with a complete beautiful couple huck from Tri to An.

1) Elektra: 2 Wins - 0 Loss - ratio: 20 - 12

2) Storm: 1 Win - 1 Loss - ratio: 22 - 21

3) Cat Women: 1 Win - 1 Loss - ratio: 18 - 21

4) Wonder Women: 0 Wins - 2 loss - ratio: 15 - 21

Women-Women score:

1) Elektra : 6 points (assited by Lien)

2) Storm : 4 points (assisted by Trang)

3) Cat Women: 2 points (assited by Sarah) 

Next round startS with match between Elektra and Storm while Wonder Women will have chance to prove their real strength against the Cat.
