Hi Wozza,
Welcome again to Vietnam Ultimate. I have some more thing to add
1) English teacher is a good job here in Vietnam, Vietnamese parents start investing a lot to their children in learning foreign languages especially English.
2) ILA: so far from my information, this is amongst the top 3 English institution in Hochiminh city ( VUS: American English institution, ILA: English - English institution, Clever Learn: American English)
3) The campus is near my house and it's central of Tan Binh district, a lot of accommodations available nearby, 5 minute walk to supermarket. It takes you about 45 minutes by motorcyle to district 7 where we play Ultimate in rush hour. However, if you go on weekend, much faster, street will be less crowded. Not a big deal, I travel from my house to field 2-3 times/week.
4) RMIT Vietnam Ultimate Club has pick up game on Tue and Fri afternoon from 4pm - 6pm, this club is a student club, they tend to have more fun game rather than hard training.
- Vudoo team training: Vudoo is the national representative for Vietnam in every Tournament and we practice on Saturday morning from 9am -12 am. During the Tournament preparation period we train hard, after a Tournament we go a little bit easy (pick up games, light training).
- Sunday pick up is from 3h30pm-6pm: 30-40 players play pick up, just pick up.
5) More info: Vietnam HAT 2009 is on 26-27th Dec , it's the second largest HAT in Southeast Asia (after Bangkok).
- Vudoo team is playing at Asian Oceanic Ultiamte Championship in Nov this year, you may join us
Hey, Felipe has mentioned one very good point but not right, RMIT field is NOT amongst the best field in South East Asia but amongst the best field in whole Asia and indeed the number 1 field in South East Asia. If you were in Bali island and move here, I believe you won't think of coming back there again haha.
Hope to see you here soon.
Regards,

Hi there,
Welcome to Vietnam Ultimate, we actually have Ultimate for both Hanoi and Saigon. I think we will have another Canadian player to join in our club. To answer your questions, please see below..
* Are there any english teaching frisbee players in Saigon? Would you recommend teaching English in Vietnam?
Yes, we have some english teaching frisbee players playing now. Teaching in Vietnam ?? Why not !! ;) I think Vietnam needs more expat English teachers
* I have a job offer for ILA Vietnam. Does anyone happen to have any insider info on this company?
ILA is one of common English language teaching in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). I think they are pretty good. Inside Info...uhmm...We had a friend named Tom Jenning used to teach English over there, he already got back to Canada.
@Tom: Can you help this question out ?
* The address of the school is 364 Cong Hoa St., Tan Binh Dist. Is this easy to travel to, or miles from anywhere? i.e. frisbee venues, popular accommodation areas.
The school is far from the field, also you may have problems with traffic there..it takes you a long long time to get there...however, depends on where you live and how your teaching schedule goes...not a big deal I guess...
* From looking at the archives, it looks like pick up is on tuesday, friday and sunday afternoon/evenings. Is this correct?
Sunday is the social pick-up. Tuesday and Friday are frisbee trainning from RMIT Ultimate club. I think there is a Saturday morning pick-up/trainning as well.
Good news: we have a Vietnam HAT 2009 is coming around end of December. You should come here soon to catch it up...It's a great tournament.
Am I missing any information, SUCers ?
Cheers,
Khuong

Hi SUC,
I'm a English-teaching Ultimate player thinking of moving to Vietnam. I havent picked up a disc in 12 months, but I did play for GB women at Worlds in Vancouver 2008. I was wondering if anyone had time to answer a few questions that would really help me out?
